I have posted somewhere about the little specks on the mail I have from my poi and that I'd seen online and on a paper he had when I last saw him and asked what it was. He relied it was spittle from his chewing gum and these specks are visible here at the very top of this envelope! They look like little black dots here, similar to pepper and I've seen them on other mailings.
