Possible meaning to the Halloween Card.

Osiris was the Egyptian god of the afterlife, he was murdered by another god his brother Set who cut the body into 14 pieces and flung them over Egypt. This enables him to take over the crown. Eventually, Isis and her sister Nephthys found and buried all the pieces, except the phallus. She magically creates another phallus. Then restores her husband’s body, allowing him to posthumously conceive their son, Horus. Who then attacks Set. In a key episode in the conflict, Set sexually abuses Horus and removes one of his eye’s. Set’s violation is partly meant to degrade his rival, but it also involves homosexual desire, in keeping with one of Set’s major characteristics, his forceful and indiscriminate sexuality.

To reach the eternal Paradise of the Field of Reeds, however, one had to pass through the trial by Osiris, Lord of the Underworld and just Judge of the Dead, in the Hall of Truth (also known as The Hall of Two Truths), and this trial involved the weighing of one’s heart against the feather of truth. If you fail this test your soul is doomed to restlessness in Duat.

14 Written on the both the hand and card represents the 14 body parts.
The Skelton has one of his eye’s missing.
Pumpkin over genitalia area, the Phallus was the only part which was not found.
Horus symbol is the eye. 13 Eyes are on the card, which represents the 13 body parts found.
Reference of Homosexuality in reply to Paul Avery’s earlier comments.

Can this interpretation cast any light on the weird signature / symbol?

Not at the moment, but it could account for the underlined LAV on the envelope. The above picture is of Aleister Crowley, his first book was The Book of the Law, but its proper title was "Liber Al Vel legis". His religious beliefs closely followed Egyptian Mythology especially Osiris. He developed The Signs of the Grades, of which two are named after Osiris. The below image shows one of them.

Dave Peterson believes that the Donna Lass and Zodiac had connections with this

He even stated "Crowley, a dope addict, urged his followers to torture and sacrafice the "Slaves". http://www.zodiackillerthemansonconnect … lated.html

( I am not suggesting anything to do with the occult)

California has a strong occultist history. Jack Parsons was a Crowley follower who helped found the US space program. Anton LaVey and the Church of Satan were active at the time of the Zodiac murders.

It makes sense Zodiac would use occult imagery for the fear factor and shock value. Whether he was a serious occultist is open to speculation.

The shapes in the first left hand image are highly reminiscent of the cipher keys.

The zig zag symbol on the letter had an F-like part. The exorcist letter also has an F-like symbol. Maybe it’s meant to represent the same symbol, just broken up.
