“Like I have always said I am crack proof”. Just speculating but this statement seems to imply that he has said before that he is crack proof, forgive me if I am being dense but when has he previously said this ??

Which is unconfirmed, so by using this statement in a authenticated letter is he inadvertently admitting responsibility for the 13 hole postcard.

Adding to the mix of confusion and suspects. Zodiac was a pretty smart guy. ;)

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

I assume he was just thinking outside the normal people box, we normal people live within, for evil purposes to make up for his incompetence as himself in real life. Nothing points out that he was anything but an average IQ person whose life was a mess big enough to drag him into investing his time over psychopathic thoughts and murders planning of innocent and defenceless youngsters as if it was "hunting" and ciphers and letters writing afterwards.

Was the 13 holes postcard ever posted on the media for him to pick that "crack proof" line?

That’s my poi: viewtopic.php?f=96&t=4009

The death toll of these "cut and paste" unconfirmed letters being lower than the one the authentic/confirmed zodiac had wrote down earlier makes it clear that this 2nd "author" is bogus (let’s hope he didn’t took his fantasies to be zodiac outside of his workshop’s "craft class" table to reality).

But as a guy who claimed he abducted a woman and a baby I believe he never met and burnt their car down afterwards (basically narrating the news piece about this incident) and who took/claimed responsibility for vile knife murders he didn’t commit IMHO (the one of the two teenagers, Debra Gaye Furlong [14] and Kathy Ann Snoozy [15], had been savagely attacked with a short-bladed knife on August 3rd 1969 in San Jose and Cheri Jo Bates in October 30th, 1966) – he wouldn’t mind appropriating other things already atributed to him to boast himself and empower his terror over the SF Bay Area as he dreamt of doing from the initial start of the mailings.

As you know, I wouldn’t fall from the chair if the one who committed the Lake Berryessa murder of Cecilia Shepard wasn’t the guy who killed Darlene Ferrin and Paul Stine. Which led the authentic zodiac to write what I think is unnecessary: the line about him being "the same man who did in the people in the North Bay Area" – if he was truly the responsible (nobody had doubts, so why the need to say so?).

That’s my poi: viewtopic.php?f=96&t=4009

Could the LA Times letter also be a hoax?

13 Hole postcard- October 5th 1970.

Is this the earliest communication that mentions him being “crack proof” or is there something earlier? Sorry for being a lazy researcher.

Yes, it’s the earliest. But he uses crackproof without the separation.

Logically speaking, the only way for a message to be truly "crackproof" is an OTP encryption. (One Time Pad) If this is what he did, then he is 100% correct. The encryption will never be broken.
