I’ve considered the possibility that Z took the greyhound to work in San Francisco as many commuters did back then. This woman was last seen at the bus depot in SF on her way back to Vallejo. Another connection to Mare Island as well. I haven’t found anything else about this case.
I’m happy to report that further investigation suggests Ms. Gonzales went on to live another 35 years.
