In my quest to find articles on all the victims listed in Graysmith’s Zodiac I found articles on these two murders.
One victim is listed as Cathy Fechtel in Graysmith’s book. The actual name of the victim is Cathy Pethtel. There is a death record for her in that name with the correct date of death. The other victim, Michael Shane is a woman! I was not able to find a death record for her in that name though. (I posted this over at ZK and TF was able to come up with the correct spelling of Michael Shane’s name, it is Shain, Thanks again TF)

The coroner’s office said today that it has confirmed the second woman’s identity in conversations with her mother, Ruby Williams of Parkersburg, West Virginia.
I was born and raised in Parkersburg.
