The prime suspect was a convicted serial killer, Robert Cruz McLain, though McLain was a rapist and the Bana murder had no sexual aspect.

I put together a biography of the prime suspect. Not a great match for Zodiac in terms of MO. viewtopic.php?f=47&t=4562

Shiri Bana, 19, was found in a ditch on Reservoir Road, off Lake Herman Road in Benicia.
She had been stabbed 25 times, with one knife wound completely through her sternum.
Her glasses were still on her face, leading police to believe she was killed there.
She was a Napa Community College student who was last seen on May 10, 1978, her mother
reported her missing on May 15, 1978.

Reservoir Road, where Bana was found, is just down the hill from where David Faraday & Betty
Lou Jensen were killed in 1968

What makes this case even more interesting is Bana’s car, a 1969 Ford Torino, was found & towed the day
before her body was found. The Vallejo Police Department, not realizing the car belonged to a
missing girl, towed it after it was found blocking the entrance to Blue Rocks Springs Park.

In 1979, although I can’t find much about it, Andrea Remington, 15 was found strangled in
the exact same spot where Bana had been found

Before it closed in 1964, Lake Herman Road was the Northern Boundary of The Benicia Arsenal.
The Zodiac Killers symbol was the same as an architectural feature, Fanlight & Gable, on the buildings in the arsenal. Most
still exist today in the Tyler Street Area of Benicia. The photos below are from the Library of Congress
