What were ALA’s parents names?
Bernice and Ethan Allen.
Bernice’s maiden name was Hanson. Ethan’s full name: Ethan Warren Allen.

Thanks! Was there an Irene Allen associated with this family at all?
Oh, and any relation to the last name Busch to ALA or this case at all?
No idea, I’m afraid – I’m not very good at these family tree things, but I’m sure others on the board might be of assistance.
There are plenty of people named Ethan Allen – many of whom were named after this guy (ALA’s father being one of them, according to Graysmith, at least):

But ALA’s father was born on April 6, 1903 – so that should narrow it down.

I appreciate the help. Trying to find out if Ethan had a brother as well. There is another Arthur L. Allen in San Bernardino at the time that would have been around the same age as Ethan Allen so wondering if it was a brother and they named ALA after?
To narrow it down further, here’s Ethan Warren Allen’s SSN:
560-42-2847
DOB: 04-06-1903
DOD: 03-01-1971

Much appreciated!
Just to add a few points to the Ethan Allen discussion we had earlier in the newspaper thread (where an "Ethan Allen" came up – a prolific writer of letters to the editor in a Fresno paper):
There are LOTS of people called Ethan Allen. ALA’s father was born around the turn of the century and in the years from, say, 1898 to 1904 alone there are many, many Ethan Allens.
As for the possibility of ALA having an uncle by the same name (Arthur Leigh Allen, that is), we face a similar problem when we don’t have much to go on. There are LOTS of Arthur L. Allens out there: Even if we narrow it down to ALAs born around the time of Ethan Allen’s birtday, in California (it looks like ALA’s father was a native Californian), there are lots of ’em. It’s needle in the haystack territory, really, without more details.
