I’ve dome some digging. I can’t tie the two men as being the same man. Nothing there either way. At least in my digs. The only thing I’ve turned up is for Raymond A Heald that was born in 1943 and it was a reference to a divorce from Marjorie J Dillon in Contra Costa County sometime prior to 1984. The record is at ancestry but I don’t have a paid account. Sorry.

I am interested not only because of the rh, but the proximity to the payphone and the possible later possible Zodiac communications being mailed to tie in with Allen’s ‘rest period’ after the interview at Pinole , and release upon his incarceration at Atascadero. The implication being Zodiac may have lived near Allen, knew him and was playing games trying to feed the police these letters after key events in Allen’s life. This guy obviously may have nothing to do with anything, but was just curious, as he lived just 59 feet from Allen’s 32 Fresno Street residence, and Allen may have known and/or confided in him. If he had first hand knowledge of Allen being investigated, then he becomes the perfect foil to implicate surreptitiously by mailing letters just after Allen’s release etc.

Oh your welcome. Late this afternoon i did some more digging. Still nothing on tying the two. Frankly, and this is just personal opinion, but I think the two are one and the same. I understand the need to have a definitive yes though. I took a different approach this afternoon. I decided to look at other "heald’s" that might have been in the area at the time. I was thinking that maybe I might find him if I looked at the others, possibly learning of his middle name, etc. Still nothing. I can tell you that the healds, living in vallejo at the time Ray/Raymond was (one that I can remember was Gary Heald and he was born in 43 or 44) are tied to the healds living in San francisco and that those healds, are the founders of healds college in Contra costa. I did ultimately find a Raymond A Heald, with the estimated birth year of 1944 (the site gave his age and not birth year), living in Los Altos which is near San Jose. He is, as it looks, still living. It would appear that a telephone number may be available for him if you or someone is willing to pay the price to obtain. It also appears that this Los Altos Raymond Heald is an inventor and has 13 patents under his belt in the area of electronics. Here is a description of one:

Can anybody find any extra information on Ray Heald, resident at 39 Fresno St, Vallejo in 1969. The only thing I can find is Raymond A Heald- but am not sure this is the same person. Born 1943. Thanks.
