Has anyone looked into Zodiac as being a possible electrical engineer, electrician, or power company employee? Any research on what his sophistication with electricity would be? Seems like his bomb diagrams and explanations would indicate an high aptitude or electrical components and electricity. Moreover, radians are only used by electrical engineers and mathematicians.

The mysterious Robert Ivan Nichols (AKA Joseph Newton Chandler III) is a possible Zodiac POI who worked as an engineering electrical designer/draughtsman.

There was no bomb. The bomb diagram was plucked from a damn map of San Francisco as part of an elaborate plan to fool the masses and boy was he successful. I can see right now that things will never change. I’ve been trying to tell you guys this in the best way I possibly can and none of you will listen. Jesus Christ. Im sick of it.

I’m new. Can you please explain to me why you believe that?

It was interesting the home made electrical boxes he had in his possession. sort of something from the early 60s,70s era. maybe early photo electric eyes or transformers.

I concur.

Find usage also by nautical people, for figuring navigational solutions in sailing scenarios;

Yes, but when taken with the design of and knowledge of the operation of the bombs, you would have to assume he has a background in electrical engineering or at the very least a trained knowledge of electricity and electrical components.

this could apply to millions! Wouldn’t someone who’d built their own stereo system have this knowledge (It was a very popular thing to do back in the day)?

Radians are taught in 8th grade math. Heck, probably 2nd grade by now. :) Doesn’t really take an Electrical Engineer or mathematician to know about them.

But could an 8th grader design a photoelectric trigger like Z did? That requires more than 8th grade geometry.

Maybe!

Did Zodiac’s design involve radians?

My point is that you have to take everything together. He used radians, he understood photoelectric trigger, and was able to create a design for a bomb that while impractical, could work. He showed a level of sophistication with with electrical components above the average person based on all the available evidence it appears. I’m open to someone showing me why I am full of crap.

my electrical mechanical background scores it a 6/10
you are right about the drawings. they are pretty good. the circuitry design and method of cable crossover and the clock all ok.
would it work practically…probably not. no fail safes. and photo electric was in its infancy and did not work out doors so well but the drawing was ok.
it could be someone very advanced in home electronics or an auto electrician. probably not an electrical engineer.
just my 2 cents
