Just wondering if I could have some opinions on the Jewelry in this article. The top one is obviously an Anchor, but I am interested if anyone knows where it is from distinctively…ie Marines, Merchant Navy etc or is it just generic? Guesses are good too :) Also are the ear rings below the Anchor, are they pearls?

Also does anyone remember a case of a couple with a broken down car in a town somewhere, with a good samaritan offering to help. Another person (guy) came along to also help and the original "helper’ stormed off in a rage? I know It’s very vague but can’t find it anywhere?! Thanks Def

The article says it was a religious medal. I did a search for religious medals with an anchor and found many similar to the one in the article but with the crucifix in the center.

The medal pictured in the article does not seem to be a crucifix but rather a saint or perhaps the Virgin Mary. Possible saints could be St. Jude Thaddeus who is the patron saint of the impossible and an anchor is associated with him.

There are four patron saints of sailors. The image in the center of the medal in the article could be one of these saints.

FWIW My husband, who was a merchant marine working out of San Francisco wears a St. Brendan medal. It does not have an anchor on it though.

This was jewelry found on Rosa Vasquez and I’m betting she was Catholic.

I once did a thorough investigation of the different saints who could be associated to the victims names. Comparing feast days to crime dates or the victims birthdates and came up with nothing! I hit a roadblock with Darlene’s name because I couldn’t figure out what saint would compare to her name. The things we will explore to try to come up with a viable theory!!

I had that same exact thing on a necklace when I was young. Not sure where I got it or what ever happened to it.

A few minutes ago on a toilet not very far, far away….
