I purchased this from eBay and thought I’d share:
Saturday Evening Post, June 13, 1959
Under this photo: "Author Jones (left) after the convicts first released him to parley with the warden. They warned Jones that if he did not return they would kill the hostages. So he went back into the prison again."
Under this photo is written: "Husky Warden Floyd Powell (at right, foreground) just before entering the prison by ladder to try and reason with the rioters. He had been captured earlier, but persuaded his convict guard to set him free."
–The other photo (top right) continued with "…headquarters in the tower at left"….and ended with "National Guard bazooka".
