The Berryessa composite was not a drawing or sketch, it was created using something called an identi-kit , essentially a Mr. Potatohead game. The three possible female witnesses were the contributors.
Yeah, I’ve seen those things.
I’ve seen these two versions of the LB sketch…

but had no idea where they came from. I’ve always assumed they were from the three girls, just wanted to make sure.
I don’t know anything about the people with Arizona tags on their car.
I find that odd. They knew their names, I’d have to read back through the report to be sure but I think the three girls knew them. Surely they were found and interviewed. Perhaps they had returned to Arizona and Arizona police spoke to them but it never made it into the Napa file. Might not have had much to offer.
Collins might have had dementia, virtually everything he said in the interview was either wrong or just weird.
Hmmm, I thought it was odd when he said something like "that’s what I reported and if anything has changed since then I can’t speak about it", it was like he was being defensive. So all that about Cecelia seeing him coming from a distance and getting a clear look at his face should be disregarded?
Cecelia saw him before he went behind the tree to put his hood on. In her condition I don’t think she was capable of giving more than a minimal description. White, clean shaven, brownish hair, glasses.

OK, thanks Tom, so she did see him, and this info comes from the emt, not Collins. Glad to get that straight. I appreciate being able to discuss this case with folks like you, Sandy, Tahoe, Morf and others who have spent the time and put in actual legwork to get the facts.
Tahoe, do you remember where Collins said that?
If in regard to the composite and Collins saying Cecelia’s was behind the LB composite, which we all know is not the case. He is quoted here, via this link:

You can tell he mixed in various things from others over the years.
You mentioned earlier that he didn’t really talk about a description in the documentary, but it’s quite similar to the interview Bryan had while in the hospital: http://www.zodiackiller.com/HartnellInterview7.html
Collins mentions how tall he was and asked Cecelia if he was as tall as her, etc. I guess you could say it was standard police procedure–and it would make sense, except why do that then, not report it? I do not trust his account as he relays it.
He also said Cecelia could see the guy watching from the road…I doubt it.
As far as any mention of glasses by a third person, I can’t say I trust that either. Cecelia had to be a mess–going in and out of consciousness, and in the ambulance, probably medicated. Surely people heard the word "glasses", but was it just perceived wrong? Two of the living victims say no, he was not wearing glasses.
Well, seems he’s the Mike Mageau of detectives, you can’t count on what he says. Thanks Tahoe.
