This article mentions that CJB had not been in the library, which may or may not be true. In addition to that, we recently have learned that the street where she had died was known as a meeting point for young people (next to the college). The two buildings next to the scene actually were part of the campus area.

I wonder if some people, who had not access to the campus facilities, had hung there around to meet young girls such as CJB? And if so, the question occurs if CJB and her killer had been there alone or if there had been other people present, e.g. shortly before her murder. In a police report, there actually had two people been looking with flashlights shortly after midnight, presumably to find the Timex watch. This could not have been the police as CJB was found later during the early morning hours.

Besides that: The weather was probably not very warm that late October night. So it rather would not have been a place to hang around for hours..nevertheless – why could one or two killers return to the scene (which might be a typical behaviour) to look after a watch, while CJB’s dead or dying body was lying around only a few feet away?
