The California voter registration database has the Bates family living in Chino, CA at 5552 Riverside Drive in 1958. They had moved from Fremont, NE the year prior. Can anyone tell me when they moved to their Via San Jose address in Riverside? I’m curious about Cheri Jo’s schooling prior to Ramona High, as well as the details of Joseph Bates’s employment. Why was he in Chino? Why did they move to Riverside? (I read that he worked at the Naval Ordnance Lab in Corona, CA, but I can’t put a date on that.)

The two addresses are 15.8 miles apart, so they are in the same general area of Riverside and both addresses are about the
same distance from Corona. (I’m assuming they moved to the Riverside area for Mr. Bates’ job at Corona)

My guess is they were renting the house on Riverside Dr. while looking for a house to buy.
