There is a letter that starts "Sooo" about the killing of CJB, which appears to have been written by someone at RCC library, and tries very hard to put the blame on RS. What do people here think of this letter? It is full of stuff which is just personal feelings (the car being parked and the writer having a "bad feeling" and getting in the car and locking it and then RS appearing from behind some bushes. And then he just walks by and doesn’t even look at the writer. They talk about how he had a bad smell, yet they also talk about girls talking to him quite a lot, which seems odd – you would think they would give him a wide berth if he smelt so badly.

It is almost as if they want people to look in a certain direction and not in another direction. What are people’s thoughts on this?

What do you mean "they"? It was a woman who worked at the library at that time responding to, I think Howard Davis, an inquiry about Ross Sullivan. She remembered him and gave her opinion of him.

It’s irrelevant to me however since I don’t think Ross was the Zodiac or killed CJB. He was just a big, weird guy who received suspicion, but the suspicion was most likely well deserved.

What if she, instead of they, actually was the killer? With her boyfriend executing, for the first time?

Then, things changed, Z went to the Bay area? It is strange that someone blames a person in a homicide case, isn’t it? At least according to Agatha Christie..

People who talked with Marshall suspected him, Cheney suspected Allen, Tim Sullivan suspected his brother, and Saxberg suspected himself. I’m sure there are other examples.

I’m thinking the female librarian is not a good suspect.

I agree, nevertheless she sent such letter..why? ‘Helping’ police without or only little facts? Or was she the one helping Z seasrching his watch..?

Just wonder about her motivation to write it..

Is it odd that someone would want to help catch a killer?

That is what actually made me wonder a bit..if you tried to help police, would you start it with "Sooooooooooo. You can’t forget the Cheri Jo Bates murder, either."? This is rather taunting than helpful.

In fact, the letter is (not really) helpful at all but simply blaming someone ‘else’ (Ross) for the homicide of CJB. The letter contains no information, why Ross should be the killer. It only refers to him as a real weirdo with violent phantasies and psycho history.

Maybe that person was just wrong (or for the believers in Ross, correct). Still, I don’t get the motivation of the person to write such a letter, but anyway. She also had written that she had requested police about Ross’ alibi, thus she might be just in favour of solving the case. Weird letter, nevertheless, well.

It wasn’t a letter to police. It was in reply to Howard Davis, a Zodiac investigator, writing to her asking about Ross.
