So…it’s a card game. Alrighty then.

It’s a bad answer to a Jeopardy question.

Ha ha!
On a more serious note, that site is being trashed more and more lately. I can’t haul trash on my motorcycle, but if I can remember, I’m gonna get a few of those orange trash bags CalTrans uses and carry them with me. Next time I stop on LHR, I’ll bag up a bunch of it and leave it in the orange bags for one of you car-drivers to throw away, if you don’t mind doing so.

Well, there you are – proper people don’t ride around on them motorcicles, you need a damn car in order to make a difference! You ain’t in some sort of motorcicle gang, I hope? You’ve seen that South Park episode, right?
Seriously, though – I love motersickles. My granddad left me an old Triumph which is just…larger than life by appearance. Looks magnificent. Doesn’t run though – so I need to get someone to look at it.
Anyway – carry on.
Some good pics on this site …

including one from nearly the same spot as 13Zebra5’s shot on page 1 of this thread.
There is a photo of ‘The Cottage’ buildings by the lake too.
It would be good to get a shot beyond that looking toward the CS.
Judging from Google earth’s street view, it seems as if there are 2 mini valleys
between this house and the CS, with the first mini valley containing a turnout with dirt track.
So the distance from The Cottage to the CS, despite ‘travelling’ relatively slowly along Google’s roads,
actually seems rather substanstial in person. A lot of maps and archival descriptions sometimes give
the impression they are right next to each other.
It also appears that The Cottage is a slightly higher elevation than the CS too, and that’s hard to tell for sure,
given the trees. And whether one could be visible from the other. Would the hillock in between the 2 mini valleys
cut out that line of sight.
So that shot above is from the hillock toward The Cottage and thus away from the CS.
About in between.
In terms of sound carrying, particularly the decibels that a volley of gunshots would sustain in colder atmosphere,
you should be easily able to hear them from these locations.
I regularly take a peek at the LHR turnout (as well as LB, as its changing landscape will be interesting what with California’s drought) and today, I saw something rather peculiar.
There was a car parked in the turnout, albeit in broad daylight. I wonder if that was a fellow Zodiac buff, or perhaps one of you all!
