IMO, multiple questions occurr regarding the following extracts of the various Lake Herman police reports:

‘She (Betty Lou Jensen) was a Grand Royal Pride of the Prima Vera Council #132 Pythian Sunshine Girls. She is a member of the Christian Science Church’

‘He (David Faraday) was a member of the wrestling team. He was and (sic!) Eagle Scout, member of the Explorer Post# 209. He recently won the (unreadable) and County award, the highest honor in scouting. He was Lodge Chief of the Order of the Arrow in Solano, Napa and Lake County. He was a member of the Knights of Dunamis and was a member of the staff of the Silverado Area Council Camp. He was an active meber of the Presbyterian Church (..). The victim first became acquainted, one week previous, while they were on a committee to decorate the Hall at the Pythian Castle for a music festival.’

‘Mrs. Jensen gave the reporting officer a list of phone numbers that BETTY had in a small book’.

‘She (Debbie Faraday, sister of David Faraday) relates the following DAVID told her on the afternoon of Friday 12/20/68 that he was going out to Lake Herman Road that night because a bunch of kids were going out there that night. She statet she knew who some of the kids were, but she could not contact them by phone now, but she would get in touch with them an let RO (Reporting Officer) know later’.

‘She (Mrs. Homer xxx) stated there were two white male adults in the (red pick-up) car, one of them was twenty-five to thirty years old, and had a stocking type hat or cap over his head, a three cell flashlight and a hunting jacket.’

‘He (Ricky) is alleged to have told a DANIEL xxx that he had his mothers car and was going out Friday night’.

‘Daniel xxx alleges that on Friday afternoon 12/20/68, he walked by Ricky xxx’s home and RICKY was washing his mother’s maroon Grand Prix automobile at the curb’.

‘He (Robert xxx) advanced the theory that the killing might possibly be a case of mistaken identity as he owns a Rambler station wagon similar to the one driven by the victim. He also stated that he and his wife were acquainted with the female victim. He also stated that his wife somewhat resembles her. He stated that since they lived in Benicia (!) they have been bothered by a prowler and every time they call police they are unable to catch him. He also stated that they have seen a blue automobile prowling around the area in the night time. Both compl and his wife are positive that someone is continually watching their house and the only person they can think of is an old boy friend of his wife’s.’

‘Larry xxx stated this WMA known as Rat (who tried to sell him a ‘hot’ gun for $10) went to school at Vallejo High with Larry’s brother.’

‘He (name mostly unreadable) further states late Thursday afternoon, approximately 1:00PM, he saw two white males, one described as 17 years, number two described as between 21 and 22 years and wearing sun glasses, also a white female juvenile 17 years, decribed as having long straight blonde hair (..). The older WMA was holding a pistol in his hand. It was pointing toward the ground.’

‘Upon arrival there, he (Royce) stated that he had company on 12/26/68, a MRS PAT xxx, who said she was told by another person that a MRS JEAN xxx of xxxxxxxxxxxx Court, in Vallejo, 644-xxx, had made a statement to her that she knew who did the killing.’

‘MRS xxx (Jean) was hesitant to make a statement. She relates, however, that her children, ages 18,16,14 and another boy who lives at the house, age 17, had made a statement that they know who did it. It was possibly just a speculated guess. MRS xxx said that the boys had named GARY xxx (the inidividual named "Gary" had a last name which was very similar [although spelled with a slight variation here] as an individual stopped near the scene of the shooting at Blue Rock Springs Park by VPD Officer Meyring)’.

‘Upon the request of the (unreadable), MR xxx (Donald, the exhusband of Ricky’s mother) agreed to bring RICKY to the (unreadable) for further questioning about a note of a threating nature that was found in BETTY LOU’s English binder.’

‘The story went on [reported by Sharon’s mother] to say that DAVID was going to turn in a subject for pushing grass (or Marijuana), and the man had threatened him.’

‘He (Ricky) denied making a statement that he was going to get the car that night (..). He denies having seen DAVID FARADAY at school on Friday. Stated he never made any threats to DAVID FARADAY to his face. He might have told BETTY LOU that he was going to tell her parents that she smoked and this only because he did not approve of it. At this time the RO showed the English note book with threatening note, allegedly written by BETTY LOU JENSEN. RICKY acknowledged that it was her handwriting. He was surprised that she had written it. He was not upset and passed it off that he could have made a remark during a telephone conversation with her.’

Note found in Betty Lou’s English binder: ‘Do you know a kid named Richard xxx? I was going with him, until two days before the instalation (sic!). He still phones me, and is threatening me to keep away from Dave. He said if he’s ever close enought (sic!) to Dave, he would punch him one in the teeth, I told him to leave me alone, if he knows what good him.’
