As they can only charge him with murder, but not the rapes etc. due to the Statute Of Limitations, can prosecutors present the jury with any evidence from those cases – to show a pattern of behaviour, being active in the vicinity and so on? e.g. "This man’s DNA was also collected from rape A, rape B, assault C, burglary D…"
Short answer, yes. They just did so in the Bill Cosby case.

The Friday, May 4, 2018 episode of "The Daily" podcast by the New York Times just posted a really great interview with Paul Holes where he tells the story of the GSK investigation:

I just listened to a podcast on True Murders with Dan Zupansky where one of the murder victim’s nieces gave her insight into the case. When asked her biggest regret about the capture it was that the murderer was 72, not 62 so he would have more time to suffer in prison.
A lot of the accounts of ear/ons would have you believe that he was a much younger man.
"If, after I depart this vale, you ever remember me and have thought to please my ghost, forgive some sinner and wink your eye at some homely girl."
Does anyone know which crime the dna came from ?
How is the EAR tied to the Southern Ca. Killings ?
