Can’t help but think of Zodiac. Does he still lurk in Vallejo, S.F., etc?
I can’t help but tell myself that he was the one who killed CJB and if he was, say, 25 at the time, that would make him 77 today, which is not that old. I mean, he could still be alive. But there’s a question that comes to my mind right now; I always heard that serial killers stop killing only because they die or get arrested. Obviously the Golden State Killer is still alive and he never got arrested before today, so what made him stop?
Maybe he didn’t…just got wiser.

Not sure it’s true, but I read his spree stopped around the time his daughter was born.

I have to ask, should we look at this guy for Zodiac? He was ex-Navy and ex-police? I know very little about the EAR/ON case so maybe someone in the know can inform me.

Nah, he prob died in ’77 
Morf, I and every other single researcher, detective or investigator was wrong about the suspect in this case.
But Morf was correct in stating that ONS was previously the Visalia Ransacker, something I believed and wrote about as well.
I didn’t think it was possible for the descriptions to be that far off. But are they sure he was the VR?
I’m more interested in his connection to SoCal and what he was doing after 1986.

Liked fishing and was a diver. Also was into guns and reloading. Here’s what I have found out about him…
Born in Bath NY 1946
Graduated Folsum (I assume California) High in 1964.
Joined Navy in Sept 1964. Served 22 months on a ship in Viet Nam. Newspaper story from the time shows he was on a ship that returned from Viet Nam and docked in San Diego in 1967.
Graduated from Sierra College (no year) also Cal State Sacramento in 1970, took law enforcement classes.
Became a police officer in Exeter California in 1973.
So, most likely didn’t kill Cheri Jo Bates, have to know exactly where he was at that time but I’d guess over seas. Would have been 16/17 if he killed Domingo/Edwards. Possible for the other "known victims" but he doesn’t look like the Stine sketch (no "widows peak)
I’d go with little possibility of being Zodiac, but who the hell knows.
I think it is unlikely that he is also Zodiac, but just to play devil’s advocate:
So I agree that Joseph James DeAngelo was most likely not the Zodiac especially if you agree that Riverside was Zodiac. But could he have known the Zodiac? Many people on here have suggested that Zodiac was a Police Officer. Honestly I dismissed that but now I am think that being a police officer myself I may have been biased. Could the Zodiac have been a senior officer who mentored this guy?
In general I do think his being a cop could have helped him avoid arrest. Back then scanning our frequency’s was easy and he would have understood exactly what was being said. But I think that we might not look seriously at another cop because we have too much faith in the testing process. We all have to take a Psych test and an extensive background to be a cop so I think we all believe a psychopath could not get hired. But clearly that’s not true.
But could he have known the Zodiac?
DeAngelo was a diver, ex-Navy and an obvious perv. Let me see here, who else do we know who was ex-Navy, a diver and an obvious perv?
