Oh wow, thank you!!!! :)

Yes I would really like to know if he was if we could verify if he was in California. He did mention in one of his statements to the FBI that he had fantasized about driving out to California to murder Annette Funicello the Mouseketeer. I also found a really interesting Air Force map that connects Riverside California and Lackland Air Force Base and some other key sites and I do know that Rader was stationed at Lackland
I’ll find the link and send it to you

Well of course there are US Air Force jets flying all over the world but that doesn’t answer the question: "Was Dennis Rader ever in CA?"

Welcome to the forum. I raised some specific objections and questions about your theory in the section on your book. Which is the better place to get into discussions about the evidence.

I served as a military policeman in the US Army Reserve for 8 years, also with some of that time active duty. My knowledge and experience about enlisted people flying on military flights does not match with what you are asserting Rader would have had to been able to do. But maybe you can answer my objections and questions.

I do not know the specific policies and practices of the USAF in Japan in 1968-1970. I assume you researched this and/or talked to airman who served with Rader or served in that area at that time. But what you are asserting does not match my experience, and IMO does not fit the facts of how much time Z would need to be on the ground in the SF area.

Now you or someone might say "read the book." But your book costs almost $40. And right off the bat I (and I think many others) have a huge difficulty with a suspect who was overseas in the military for all 5 confirmed Zodiac murders and 11 confirmed mailings. I go into specific detail about the serious problems with that scenario.

So my suggestion would be in that section on your book, lay out your argument. Tell us the most important evidence backing your theory. If you can, try to answer some of the specific objections and questions that I and others have raised or will raise. To the extent you can make an interesting and convincing case, then more Z researchers might buy your book.

Welcome Kim. Personally I have given up on suspects in the Zodiac case, it always ends up in heated arguments. At least you don’t sound too defensive, and seem level headed.
You said "There are only a few ways that I would be satisfied that Dennis Rader is not BTK: A specific alibi and if there were at least two complete DNA profiles from different crime scenes that did not match Rader’s or two matching fingerprints from two different crime scenes that did not match Rader’s. That would satisfy me but not the generic alibi or partial DNA profile. That does little to exclude him".
I would say it is the person who proposes a suspect as Zodiac to produce the evidence of where their suspect was during the relevant timelines, not for other people to disprove the case. In other words you would have to provide some evidence or records to prove Rader was in the vicinity of California during all four attacks, this should be the first step, it should not be for other people to prove he wasn’t. A person making a claim is the one who has to prove it, not the other way round.

Having said all that Dennis Rader worked for ADT services in 1974 and killed the Otero family on January 15th 1974, two weeks prior to the Exorcist Letter mailed in San Francisco. A quick check of his work records from the above company would determine if he was missing in action. He was also a sexual sadist and was only 23 in 1968.

In the July of 1968 he was stationed at Tachikawa Air Base, close to Tokyo and remained there until August 1970.
Therefore we would have to conclude he came from Japan and back for four attacks, and 11 letters.

I agree UK. This thread is really just for introductions and welcomes. Let’s continue the discussion in the Zodiac Media section, in the thread on her book. Hopefully Kim will join us there and lay out her case, and respond to some of our objections and questions.

Welcome Kim.

I agree, BTK as Zodiac is a tough sell. But looking into a mass murderer to see if there were any additional crimes is a worthy cause.

Good Luck.

Welcome, Kim! You’ll find that our community is a bit skeptical when it comesto new Zodiac books: so many have proved outright rubbish. However, you also have a knowledgeable forum in which to present your theories. z-site is an ideal testing ground for your MS.
