Has Kathleen Johns’ daughter Jennifer ever spoken about her mother’s alleged experience? She’d be over 50 years old now. I wonder if her mother ever talked with her about it. Perhaps she’d have some new insights.

We interviewed Kathleen New Years Day 1990 at a restaurant. Among family we met after our interview was her daughter Jennifer who had her child with her! My mind was drawn back to when her mother in 1970 was carrying her!
She affirms her mothers account which she heard from the one who actually experienced it not from posters sitting behind a computer a myriad of years later carping and dismissing her as several said she set her own vehicle on fire to get insurance money! 
She had no insurance she was too poor! Here’s a 7 month pregnant young female with a 11 month infant in arms with a mother setting fire in the middle of nowhere in the dead of night to a teetering vehicle is preposterous!

I spoke by phone to a friend of Kathleen an RN who had several conversations with Johns over the years about her experience and she firmly believed her account and personal sincerity. She believed that it was Kathleen appearance that night as a young ‘hippy type.’ She thought the ultra conservative country police were suspicious of her.
This is uprofesional to say the least.   
During the interview tears fell as she looked up to the ceiling saying ‘Someone was watching over us’t that night thinking of her daughter and son yet to be born were saved by her jumping from his car. She told the perp as he stopped the car when he was going in a wrong direction to the freeway off ramp: “l am going to be sick”(expectorate) as she jumped grabbing Jennifer as she ran as fast as she could towards a large orchard or vineyard. I think at first this stranger probably believed her knowing she was pregnant and realized she was upset was allowed to go a distance then realized she was running towards a vineyard suddenly recovered! 

l published the Johns police reports it was the first time they appeared in public. Many copied them placing them on their sites with no attribution it was appalling. One page is missing to date it’s lost. There may be valuable info.
I was very fortunate to get them after many years trying to obtain them. Having read them and have been researching all tertiary events, etc. l am fully prepared to answer any questions. 

Sadly, Kathleen died from cardiac arrest due l believe to smoking. 

@bruce3 That’s really interesting. Have you been in contact with Kathleen’s daughter since then? Did Jennifer say anything about what her mother had shared with her about the alleged experience over the years?

She spoke to an associate in detail at her apartment confirming her mother’s account. Their family all believed her. Several were there to greet us after our interview.  Two new things came out. She noted several gum wrappers on the driver’s floorboard. 
And when the perp was using his flashlight the same one probably she had seen on his dash which was a rubber grip-in the field calling out in a firm voice to her she could see he was holding a handgun. 
ln every known Z attack a gun was used but at LB it was produced for control this probably shows he was going to use his knife. 

Zodiac in his 7/25/70 placed Johns and her “baby” at the top of his “little list.”l think he was furious a female especially a pregnant one holding a child fooled him and dashed to freedom! It must have been humiliating to his massive ego, hence, he admits to burning her vehicle and sending her a Halloween card in 1970.
But it was his July ‘70 missive that caused her to go underground as it were. She became very fearful of her life and that of her children. 
It was GS who tracked her down from a Christmas card. She told me her memory was very sharp then and it was an accurate account,etc. 

She cleared up several things for me for this l am thankful. God bless her memory as the only known victim to escape from Zodiac unharmed and saved l believe two other lives. He could have killed three persons that night without blinking. 
l wouldn’t be surprised if he wasn’t going to commit a murder “ By fire.” A young pregnant mother foiled his plans regardless. 
l believe in Rodelli’s discovery in the 11/8/69 dripping pen card that you turn it upside down and the exclamation marks or dots can be counted as 1-3-2 or highway 132 ? -the card message saying the police and media are going to get “bad news” but it won’t be for ‘a while yet.’ He writes about doing his “Thing” so it’s probably another murder/s he is referring to proleptically! 
Highway 132 was sometimes back then as “lonely” and l note Z uses that word in his card.
