Just think of what a creepy SOB it would take to drive little English cars. We threw the English the hell out of her years ago. We don’t need their silly kiddie cars around here. Who would buy such a miserable heap of steel junk and drive it around town? Only a goon would do so.

Nice

Is your first name Richard by any chance ? I am from and live in England, and do you know what, if their are people like you in the US I am thoroughly glad that you “threw” us out. I am amazed that a 3rd world country such as ourselves have not found this amazing futuristic material that you seem to think that cars are made from. Mind you given the fact that very few cars are actually made in the UK anymore I suppose l it is not high on our list of priorities, but hey let’s not let the truth get in the way of your moronic ramblings. I have a piece of advice for you from somebody who obviously had the same mindset as yourself once said “ he has a serious psychological disorder — always needs to feel superior. I suggest you refer him to a shrink“. I suggest we put You “back in the, hell-hole from whence it came”.

It is not possible for anyone in the public using the information available to make an accurate call about any given car for there is a myriad of unknowns.

The take away message is it’s exceptionally difficult to highlight any one particular car, there is a small scope of possible cars.

Can you explain/elaborate on this?

It’s hard to address this, i’m not sure if i have seen all the available information. If i have seen and read all that is available then the simplest answer is this, why don’t the reports themselves name the tyre make and possible vehicles that match the known forensic aspects? Did they not follow up on this path? Everything we know of the shoe that made the print offers a fair bit of contrast.

But we know it’s 52 inch approx, yes but do we know the direction of the wheels at the point of measurement? a vehicles tracks can shorten in width if said vehicle is turning, think of the marks made by a car doing a “doughnut” you could correctly measure 1inch distance between the tyre marks. And then the issue of not knowing the make of the tyre, certain tyres could reduce the width of the physical measurement depending on variables of which we do not know.

But wait it gets worse, even if we knew exactly what the wheel track was (after doing all the necessary math) we could highlight particular makes of cars (which would be helpful) but another problem arises. The measurements are actually only Relevant to THE car that left them, so a distinction needs to be made between stock car measurements and the actual car we are trying to ascertain.

Give the perfect matching corvair model a similar set of tyres (a couple of inch less in width than stock which brings up more unknown problems, maybe?) and repeat the exact same movements as the perps car, it probably won’t match.

And so it’s a mountain being made out of a mole hill. Better to seek the missing LE reports of the time then to play with a basket of unknown variables.

Yes, dyslexia is probably my first undiagnosed language.

I knew by your spelling that it was likely your crew that we threw the hell out here. I would wager on it being so. But you have nothing we haven’t. I got Salad Cream, Beanz, Moulton mowbray pork pies and all the other food you eat every day. I got PG tips.

My first name is Sherlock, not Richard.

Just hit the report button on his post. Enough of us do it and there will be results.

Yeah, I agree on the tire track widths. It might eliminate some models, but doesn’t tell us any specific model. There are too many variables and it seems they might have measured from a mark left by an inner tread, not the outter sidewall.

So the moniker you have chosen is that of an ENGLISH fictional character ? Oh the irony.

In investigating POI Harvey F. Colliver, forum user Simplicity has made a discovery that also relates to Kjell Qvale. viewtopic.php?p=74112#p74112

Based upon the dimensions of Zodiac’s tire tracks at the Lake Berryessa crime scene, an expert informed Simplicity that Zodiac may have driven a Sunbeam Tiger or a Sunbeam Alpine. These cars were both manufactured in England, the Tiger by Jensen Motors (later bought out by Qvale) and the Alpine by the Rootes Group.

These cars were very rare in the US and none other than Qvale specialized in importing British cars to the US West Coast.

It would be great if we actually knew that those tire tracks belonged to the assailant. We can only speculate.

We don’t need their silly kiddie cars around here.

Sorry but have to add you have no idea about cars. Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Bentley etc. is great stuff. Maybe you also do not like Porsche, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lotus, Maserati, Opel, BMW? While formerly US owned Chrysler is German, too, still a never ending trouble story from the perspective of car makers. But hey, you may want to build out your Otto-Motor as well as your four Robert Bosch’s spark plugs before you next time start your car?

Tesla you will now say..yes: But you may also want to remember that Tesla was formerly "Grohmann Automation" responsible for the production of all of Tesla’s batteries and accelerators?

Thus, if you do not like European "kiddie" car technology – you may better WALK to work

Gotta love when someone is so ostentatious with their opinions, but isn’t bright enough to cut-and-paste or provide attribution correctly, don’t you?

Take a second glance, QT…

@Cragle: Great you do use your spark plugs ;) (btw, they were invented in my father’s business building…you can visit Bosch’s working place via the city of Stuttgart approx. once a month – I never did).

@ConcernedCitizen: No, I am not bright enough to "copy paste". Surely, you are way better in doing so. But if you are up to invent sthg like a spark plug – call me.

Sorry, pal…first I’m somewhat xenophobic…America First…only and ALWAYS.

And second…I don’t respect anyone who rides their daddy’s coattails or misquotes others, whether by intention or lack of attention to detail..both denote a lack of character.
