Hello everyone. I am new to the group and have just started researching this mystery. I would like to ask a few of questions and would appreciate any information you can share. I feel like I may have stumbled across something that may be of interest, but before I share it, I need to know more about this case to see if there is any substance to my "hunch".
1. How many ciphers are there?
2. Could there be different "key words" for each cipher?
3. What methods have been used in the past or are currently being used to decipher the messages?
4. Have any of the "suspects" been ruled out? If so, which ones? And why?
Those are some very general questions. It might be more efficient if you just shared your hunch, and then we can help you determine whether it will move the case forward. Looking forward to hearing more.
Well, Mist, I think there are 5 key words. That’s why I asked about the number of ciphers. I also have reason to believe the person who did this had military experience, was a pilot, owned a Zodiac watch that was common among Vietnam era pilots, drove a VW Beetle, did NOT live in the area of the killings, but flew in and out of airfields near the killings or used his own plane, and the strange walk I have read about could have been because he wore sandals made from old tires (Ho Chi Minh sandals)…that’s why the tire treads at one of the crime scenes didn’t match…I saw this mentioned in one of the posts online. Just for the heck of it, could the keywords be discover, contentment, imagination, payroll, and the fifth one….well, I haven’t yet figured that one out.
If the Z340 is actually solvable the key to it is THING. Zodiac alludes to it way to much. Hope that helps.
