One of the kids apparently followed the killer down the sidewalk after the Stine shooting. How far did he follow and why did he stop?
One of the biggest questions people have, or why they discount Qvale is they say "how come none of the teens said ‘the killer is that rich guy who lives down the street." How is that handled in here?
Finally. Did the police take a picture of Qvale, who was semi-famous, to the kids who saw the murder and say "was this the guy you saw?"

The kid supposedly followed Stine’s killer for a ways, that is true. However there is no proof Qvale was the Zodiac.

The eyewitness to the Stine murder did not follow Z up Cherry. He WATCHED Z walk up to Jackson but the witness stayed on the NE corner of Wash/Cherry.
The only kid who MAY have known who KQ was at the time is the youngest Robbins kid and he refuses to speak to anyone. As to why he won’t speak, that is a mystery. I just wrote to him a week or ten days ago encouraging him to come forward if he has something to add to the conversation but, of course, no reply.
The police never considered Qvale a suspect. The first time the kids even saw a photo of Allen, SFPD’s main suspect, was in the 1980s and they were shown the photo by VPD not SFPD! The first time Lindsey Robbins was shown KQ’s photo was when my friend Jim faxed it to him in September 2003. His reaction is in my ebook, The Hunt for Zodiac.

He was faxed a photo? OMG! Really? I can forgive you because you are not LE. Jim Dean knew better. Sorry, this was terrible. You basically led the witness. He needs to pick out the suspect from an array of possible persons.
Notwithstanding, I still don’t see how LR didn’t recognize Qvale. Longer hair and lack of glasses shouldn’t be enough to confuse him. This leads me to believe that he really didn’t get a great look at the suspect’s facial features, but got a general look of his overall person. At fifty to sixty feet, I can’t discern precise facial features. Unless he has better than 20/10 vision, I don’t think he could do so either. The fact that he met Qvale in the 70s but never made the connection means that either Qvale was not Z or LR didn’t get as good of a look as you think he did at the suspect.
