I noticed after taking a pic of the hint of a solve and plugging it into the webtoy, it has the G being deciphered as an O (15th spot) and also as a B (43rd spot). There are others as well. I can’t imagine these guys making a mistake so I wonder if this leans towards multiple layers of encryption? Hope to have this explained further next week.

This show would best be described as "Dead Ends." Every episode they promise some startling discovery and then it leads to a dead end. There used to be a bomb here? Sure. Donna Lass was buried here? C’mon. I’ll withhold final judgement until the last episode airs but so far the whole affair seems highly exploitative. It’s more of a "reality" show than a documentary. They’re trying to make connections and conclusions based on what would sound dramatic in a show, not what would actually help solve the case. The Albany letter is clearly written by someone other than Z. The expert analysis seems coached at best, cooked at worst. As for the "solution" of the cipher that was teased at the end, don’t you think we would have heard about it if someone really had 340? It’s not as though this program is happening live and you can’t keep secrets like that in today’s world. I assume they must have signed nondisclosure agreements but you would think something would have leaked if they really had made the breakthrough they’re teasing. If you were the family of a Z victim, wouldn’t you be upset if you knew that someone had information regarding the case and they were withholding it to get better ratings on a season finale? As annoyed as I am by the whole thing, I can’t help but keep watching.

Your dad is not the Zodiac.

I think the History Channel should have a brand new series. That show will tell us that Hitler, Zodiac, and Jack the Ripper all shared a buried bunker on Oak Island. P.T. Barnum was right, a sucker is born every minute.

Get ready for Series 2 of the Hunt for the Zodiac killer!

How can they get away with claiming their supercomputer "discovered" the name Connie Henly in the Albany letter when it was discussed here in 2013! viewtopic.php?f=77&t=60&hilit=henly&start=20

And then, cue the dramatic music, Ross Sullivan was from New York! OMG, so was Lawrence Kane! Who knew? Well, all of us here…just saying… On the other hand, it wasn’t until 2010 that native Californians outnumbered those from other states/countries, so I would hazard a guess that probably thousands of people living in California in the 1960s and 1970s came from or once lived in New York.

The more I watch, the more I agree with whomever said the "computer" looked like a movie prop, most likely because that is what it is. What a bunch of horse crap! And why did they find it necessary to fly to New York to look into this? I’m in Iowa, and I already knew what they "learned" in their trip to NY.

And then there’s the Donner Pass fiasco…Golly, three cadaver dogs alerted on the same area. Holy crap! Uh, why is the place called Donner Pass again? Because 39 of 87 folks in the Donner-Reed party DIED there in 1846. Sooo, the intrepid History Channel crew found the same thing that they found at Mt. Diablo…nothing. But they were sure a body had been there at one time after digging a hole maybe two feet deep and the same across. The dogs may be right about a body having been there. Was it Donna Lass? Most likely no.

Once again Sal and the tattooed guy, along with the rest of the Oak Islan…oops I mean code breaking crew have uncovered nothing that one could not have learned on this site…without all the annoying, dramatic music obscuring too much of what is being said.

At the end of the third episode they were led to "donner pass" by a decoded cipher found on a missing person flyer for donna lass that may have been produced by zodiac himself. Starting from the casino the directions were perfect.

Is donna lass buried at donner pass?

Zodiac did not create that reward poster.

That’s what I heard, that it was a modern forgery, it had the wrong area code, no?

Her family and Harvey Hines (a former detective who researched her case) created it post late-1997 after the area code change to (530). They were active in South Lake Tahoe at the time doing research and working with the SLTPD.

Probably in 2001: https://www.tahoedailytribune.com/news/ … years-ago/

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

Where did the cypher code on it come from?

From my recollection, her nephew created it.

OOOOOOOOH let me see that computer graphic with a face in it. MR SMARTYPANTS, PRESS THE KEYBOARD AND ENTER THE INFORMATION INTO "CARMEN-THE WONDERBOX!" Man am I ticked-off. Uncle Sal and Mr Tat are the Laurel and Hardy of the crime world.

What a bunch of crap. Phony BS show. Wait, I’ll wait for the final episode with the DNA. MY guess.. it’s another dead-end.

(Thanks for letting me rant.)

OK, thanks. LOL, isn’t that the one they deciphered and followed to the Donner Pass area?

I get all that are negative about the show as we watch oodles of info being displayed as new when it as already been discussed here over years.

I just can’t believe that these folks on the show are going to produce a potential solve that turns out to be just another forced solution. They have to, at the very least, produce something that is credible given their expertise and integrity.

Depends on the ratings. Look how long the Oak Island thing has been going. It also is telling that these shows are categorized as Series 1 Episode 1-5. With all the wasted air time they’ve spent on Mt. Diablo and Donner Pass, not to mention a trip to New York for no legitimate reason, I find it hard to believe they will solve the case all in Episode 5 of this series. The teasers don’t give me much hope either.

I’m not sure whose integrity you are talking about. If it’s the retired officers, I suppose they would like nothing better than to solve the case. If you are talking about the History Channel producers, they seem to have a history of producing crap shows that never solve anything. This is shaping up to be another one of those. The officers are not in charge.

I had high hopes for this one, but nothing thus far has made be believe this is anything but another farce.

Donner Pass a sub for Donna Lass? Sounds Zodiacky.

Ah, I didn’t know that was Tahoe. I thought some other woman had stolen her find. Very cool, Tahoe! That is easily one of the biggest finds in the entire case.

A few minutes ago on a toilet not very far, far away….

So the investigators are sent to a spot that looks like it would be the perfect spot to hide a body. A spot that comes up in some cipher nobody has ever heard of before. A spot where you literally peek through the pines. There was a body there at one time. I’m not sure what to make of this. If it was Donna’s body, which is very possible, when and why was it moved, and where was it moved to? Did her killer get nervous?
