This is something I’ve been thinking about when it comes to LHR. The whole thing about using the beam of a flashlight as a targeting mechanism. It’s a little similar to how they lock missiles onto targets. Basically shooting a beam of some sort (radio, infrared, laser). Obviously the bullet doesn’t have sensors on tailfins to keep them in the beam and going toward the target. Anyway, that’s party of fuze work, IIUC. One specialty of The Naval Ordnance Laboratory – Corona was fuze work. They were well known for it.
