Hello to all,
i just stumbled on a publication made by Kenneth L Mains on his FB page that he was about to release some very important documents regarding the zodiac case. Mr Mains is one of the detectives that was involved in the doc from last year where they said they had partially cracked the Zodiac code and where they analysed the CJB pants for DNA. i am a little surprised by the method (to like his FB page, to like his you tube page and his site). The picture he offered show a partial report from CJB murder (or so i think). don’t know what to think about that….
If I had to make a guess, I’d guess that they are the original police report about the crime. I don’t think the actual CJB police reports are available online – only the autopsy reports

the extract he shown seem to indicate it. I don’t know if i can post it here but it’s what they did upon the arrival at the crime scene (lift he hair, picture of shoes etc). The method is strange imho, if they have important documents relase them for god sake…
Honestly, with all the intense interest in the case, I’m surprised they haven’t been released already.

I suspect lots of loafing, horsing around behind the scenes….just biding time waiting for cushy retirement along with perhaps a pay raise for "special assignment."

Is this referring to Mains? Or the Riverside PD?

The WHOLE LOT OF THEM!
This stunning lack of anything new….as simple as a "progress/no progress report" even…says it all.
That is why imo the only hope for any progress to be made would be for someone like Bryan Hartnell to step up to the plate and try to be as eager for justice for Cecelia Shepherd and the rest of the victims and their families as he was eager to help the Zodiac. He talked to him at length and heard his voice. There are tape recordings available with my poi’s voice on them and I am sure others have theirs as well. He could listen to them and at least screen out those he is sure were not the man who almost killed him. His lack of involvement here is quite amazing imo.
If he and the families of victims who are still living don’t apply pressure and want justice for their loved ones, why should anyone? At least clear the names of all these people whose names have been publicly thrown around for speculation by armchair detectives who don’t seem to mind pointing fingers at people (many of whom have led decent lives with above-average achievements).
His lack of involvement here is quite amazing imo.
It’s quite understandable that Mr Hartnell doesn’t want to relive his near death experience and the brutal murder of his girlfriend at the hands of a twisted sicko.
Perhaps but perhaps not! He was two-timing his girlfriend and has gone on with his life. Cecelia, who thought she was going to marry Bryan, has not.
If someone were charged with being the Zodiac and brought to trial, I am quite sure he would be one of the first witnesses to be called!
I’ve read where people speculated Z was a hitman. Hmm….wonder what sort of person would have reason to hire a hitman to murder Cecelia and Bryan?
Hercule Perot would have had more ideas by now than anyone other than Agatha Christie!
I share the concerns of those who believe Riverside Police Department has botched the Bates case. Since their pet suspect has been DNA-eliminated as a suspect, police files should be available to responsible amateurs who have shown a sincere interest in solving her murder. How about California’s Attorney General? Has s/he been approached? At any rate, the Bates case should be removed from RPD jurisdiction.
Cheri’s diary could hold the answer. Where is it? In a box in a former detective’s garage? Gee, isn’t it against policy to take evidence home?
Detective Mains became privy to the reports through his investigations with the History Channel. They are actual police reports. He is in no way paid, or works for, the RPD. I have kept in contact with him since the documentary and he has always been open and honest–seeking nothing but answers and always expressing his view about sharing information. He, like us, cannot understand why after 50+ years information hasn’t been made available to the public.
We should be very appreciative of his willingness to do this!!

Thanks for the input ! I have done the three prerequisite steps for having access to the reports, but i still don’t understand why he has chosen to make this type of exchange (like and subscription for report access). Sound strange to me, a little misplaced maybe. But it’s small demand for having access to these things. i’m sure it will be worth the wait.
Ditto! ITA but am finally encouraged.
Listened to his YouTube video last night where he talks about his background, schooling, etc.
As a retired social worker with many years experience in CPS, I felt a kindred spirit!
Now question #1 – why these requirements and #2 – when will be getting to read them?
