I read a very interesting article about a run-of-the-mill deceased elderly couple who appear to have been in possession of a stolen painting worth $160million. It’s looking pretty likely that they were the ones who did the actual heist 30-odd years ago, so this makes a good read in its own right:

So where’s the DBC connection?
When I googled the case for more info, I came across a blog post by Gian Quasar commenting on the likeness of Jerry Alter to DB Cooper. This could be brushed off easily were it not for another compelling fact – they had over $1million in the bank, which apparently is at odds with the salaries they earned and spent on global travels. If they are our Ocean’s 2, then they didn’t get the money selling the painting and could well have pulled off other heists that remain unsolved. Of these, the DB Cooper case does seem to be a good candidate.
