I concur….I have researched the JFK assassination for over 50 years. I have read over 150 books about the assassination. I have been to the School Book Depository countless times. Most visits were before the corner was sealed off by plexiglass. I have hired renowned researchers multiple times and have traced all of Oswald’s actions including the timing of the escape route on that fateful day. The reason I continue to research any new theory is that I want to be convinced of a conspiracy. So far, there is no hard evidence. There is overwhelming evidence against Oswald. When I discuss the assassination on JFK boards, it amazes me that so many people posting their opinion about "whodunnit" have never really done any real research and throw out conspiracy theories without facts. For instance, Oswald was a poor shot and he had a POS rifle. Lets look at some facts…Oswald was classified as a Marine sharpshooter in 1956 and a Marksman in 1959. He practiced with C 2766 for at least 6 months before the assassination and tried to kill General Edwin Walker. Another simple fact that a lot of people are unaware of is that Oswald shot police officer J.D. Tippit in Oak Cliff later that day. I could go on forever. In summary, one of the reasons I like this Zodiac board is that I get the feel that at least 80% or more on here have done their research. Whereas on JFK boards, I would put the rate at about 5%.

Oswald was an activist for a pro-Castro organization and may have discussed carrying out the assassination with some members. In that case it would technically meet the definition of a conspiracy, but we will never know if this happened.

The various conspiracy theories fail at the first hurdle, because they assume LE and hotshot lawyers wouldn’t be interested in unearthing an outrageous conspiracy that would make them international celebrities and set them up for life.

Hi Stitch….150 might be a conservative number. There are well over 1,000 books about the JFK assassination. There are countless books such as the Path To Power, that are essential for research into say, the possible LBJ involvement in the assassination. Other books about Jack Ruby come to mind. As to the Warren Commission, I do not completely agree or believe everything contained. They got the number of total shots correct, but were not sure as to whether it was the first, second, or third shot which missed. Of course at that time, they did not have the technology that we have now. My belief is that the first shot missed and the single bullet theory presented by Arlen Spector was correct. The Warren Commission’s goal was to prove that Lee Harvey Oswald was the assassin of John F. Kennedy. I think that they proved that point. When someone asks me what book to start with in researching the JFK assassination, its the Warren Commission Report. However, in my opinion, one of the main problems I have with the Warren Commission Report is that I think they should have pursued some intriguing leads and disregarded some of the witnesses testimony. Hench, my passion on the research of the JFK assassination.

Hi Stitch….I think sometimes on the internet, statements get misconstrued and misinterpreted when reading just the words on face value. If you knew me and we were having this conversation face to face, you would know that there is no intent of BSing you or anyone on this board. "If I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don’t know". When you think you are an expert, you stop learning. I came to this website for research and to learn about the Zodiac murders and the theories. I respect everybody’s opinion or belief even if it differs from mine. .

It looks to me like Connally collapses from being hit in the back at Z325, which would be 0.7 seconds after the head shot. That’s the main piece of compelling evidence I have seen, along with the fact that the acoustic evidence of the House Committee also finds a shot at that moment.

The JFK asssassination case got bogged down for so long in the Zapruder film and forensics that everyone forgot the strongest evidence came from his wife.
