For awhile they thought Zodiac was responsible for these crimes.
More info on Cathy Woods
This appeal made by Cathy Woods in 1985 names a male and female who Woods says did the killing.

I did a little more searching on the people named in Woods appeal. I found a couple of articles which have Tony Lima’s age and middle initial. With that information I found a birth record for a Tony Lima who would have been the right age and he has the correct middle initial, too. This Tony Lima was born in San Francisco and died in San Mateo County. So, he was from the Bay Area and returned there at some point. I can’t say that he is the Tony Lima named in the Nevada newspaper articles but he sure seems to fit both the Reno murder and the Gypsy Hill murders since they now have been tied via DNA.
This second article was cut off at Newspaper Archive, I did not intentionally cut it off.
And here are the records from Ancestry on Tony Lima.

Hmm..another Anthony J. Lima with S.F. mob ties. I wonder if the apple didn’t fall far from the tree?
Here’s a website on the Gypsy Hill murders
There was a famous golfer from the bay area "Tony Lema" who died in an airplane crash in the 1960’s. Too bad the last name wasn’t Lema rather than "Lima" then there would be a connection to the golf courses.

Great work, Seagull (as always, I might add!)!
Can you you tell if he has a brother that was from the same area?
He does have a brother who is about four years younger. I will PM you the info in a minute. He is still living so I don’t want to post his name.
There was a new story on the news about these murders.
