Jeannette Kamahele..a potential Santa Rosa hitchhiker murder victim. IF Z wasn’t the SRHM, it was a guy with ‘afro-style’ hair and a faded brown Chevrolet. So far, no leads at all in her case. However the guy might simply have taken her to Oakland, e.g. Telegraph Avenue, where some girls had disappeared in those years. And she could have had met Z there, too.

Although it would’ve been easy to identify her, there were almost no leads at all (‘Pacific Islander female’). Not using DNA technology in those years, a Coroner would have been required to look at other facts such as hair color, skull shape, height etc.

Now let there be some bones found, close to Pleasanton, with an Asian skull and nearly the same height +/- one inch. Let these year old bones be found in 1983, thus approximately eleven years later.

Although there is no direct link to Jeannette, it’s the best case that could lead to an identification of Jeannette Kamahele (reported).

well-known missing person case MP #8069, Jeannette Kamahele, could be identical to unidentified person UP #14964.

Although not many leads, both cases have multiple facts in common:

– Similar height (5’5”/5’6”)
– Asian/Pacific Islander skeleton (no DNA in 1983, most likely due to shape of skull)
– Time frame (missing in 1972 / bones found in 1983 were ‘years’ old)
– Distance of the area missing/found is less than 100 miles

To verify or exclude MP Jeannette Kamahele, only DNA would be helpful. DNA is not entered yet, however (remains still available?). It would be great if an analysis of the remains found could or could not be associated with the case of Jeannette Kamahele.
