Is a name that would fit into the my-name-is cipher. Some time ago I have mentioned that among 15,000 names, none (!) would fit the cipher in a monoalphabetic substitution (w/o anagramming; took I them from high school yearbooks – file can be sent). Of those 15,000 names there was not even one matching the cipher with only one or two errors, none would match the cipher without three or more errors.

Well and then there is a guy, stocky & blond pompadour hair style, who was a colleague of CJB. His name is slightly different, written with a ‘t’ instead an ‘h’. We also found out that there is an ‘everett’ graphic company out there, which used to have a z symbol on their website (now gone, new website, luckily I saved it on my pc).

Please also note the ‘bullet’ name of the file..

That time I had stopped to investigate this one further, as Morf told me that he could not put that guy to the Vallejo area. A personal request – via fb – was completely unanswered, although written quite politely.

Today I checked back and found out that there was indeed a John E. being the brother of one of the two graphics company owners. Now guess what he had studied: Law. And now guess where he had studied: Los Angeles, Fullerton area. Only a few miles away from Riverside.

All that doesn’t say anything about him being the John E. of CJB’s school, however IF this guy is the same person, his way was Riverside (LA) – Western State College (LA, Fullerton) – Graphics Company (SF, Oakland) and would he therefore then be placed to both, Riverside and the Oakland/Vallejo area.

Just for your valued information, as an update to the original thread. Overall I think it is interesting because of

– possible CJB connection (Riverside ‘John E.’)
– Riverside/LA & Oakland connection
– stocky, blond pompadour hair style
– not responding on request about the CJB case
– graphics involvement, usage of felt pens
– Zodiac symbol used on website of later (?) company
– Z logo drawing in the yearbook
– John E.’s (Riverside) address, he had to pass Arlington Avenue, then Jefferson/Magnolia passing CJB’s home

UPDATE: In fact Melvin Belli had ties to the Western State College of Law, too, so he might have had met John E. there.
