Here’s another guy from Boston, Joe Barboza, ex boxer, loan shark, contract killer, and gourmet chef. My old buddy Joe( not Barbosa’s) used to hang out on the corner across from Barbosa’s Corner, in East Boston. This guy had a lot of money on the street. He would bite your ear off if you didn’t pay. He was a very feared man. Barbosa’s was the first guy to go into the witness protection program. The FBI put him in San Francisco and he really took to the area. He murdered several people out there too. He killed about 19 people in Boston. He dealt drugs and put money on the street out there as well. If you want to know how a guy with 19+ murders to his credit could be out free in the witness protection program and be allowed to murder and go back into his criminal enterprises, just ask the FBI. They are the people who condoned these matters. They got Barboza in San Francisco. A Boston guy shotguned him in the street.

I don’t know that Barboza murdered several people out west but I do know he killed one. When he was put in the witness protection program he was moved to Santa Rosa in Sonoma County where he did kill a man. This picture and part of an article are from the Santa Rosa Press Democrat written at he end of the century, December 30, 1999, in a larger article titled Notorious Acts That Changed Face Of County by Randi Rossman.

Nice article you found in the paper. You’re right about the one murder Barboza got pinched for. With him it’s hard to imagine
that others weren’t dead as well.
