Paula Zahn has recently covered this case in here on her crime show, ‘On the case with Paula Zahn.’

It’s odd that I should have such a fasination, bordering on the obsessive (lol) with The Zodiac Case, but the case featured on Paula’s show, ‘One Month of Terror’ is the one responsible for my now great interest in Criminology, specifically serial killers. I first became aware of the case when I was about 11 years old, and watched a film on cable tv late one night called ‘Victim of Beauty’ (The title of the film in America is ‘Nightmare in Columbia County’.) The film left me, at that young age, terrorfied, yet intrigued. I won’t go into detail here about it as people can read about it if they wish by googling or youtubing ‘Larry Gene Bell’. He was similar to Z in many ways, but even more evil, sick and heartless, in my opinion.

I havn’t seen ‘On the case with P Z: One Month of Terror’ yet because I can’t find it anywhere online in it’s full episode format, which is the main reason for me posting this, anyone know where it may be available to watch online for free?

In fact, Bell’s personality, his reasons for killing, his communicating with the vitcims own sister etc, is so much like that of Zodiac, it’s uncanny! Here’s the 3 minute teaser of ‘One the case…’ episode and features Bell, I think when people watch it, they will see what I mean….

Gort, I’ve read Murder in the Midlands-28 days of terror twice. I still have the book, and its well worth a read :-)

Yeah the UK title of the made-for-tv movie is ‘Victim of Beauty’, while the U.S title is ‘Nightmare in Columbia County’. Brilliant film.

Yeah. Although there is a book about Shari Faye Smith (Bell’s victim) written by her mother Hilda called ‘The Rose of Shari’. I’ve read that also a few years back.

I won’t spoil it for you, but was just curious if you knew of the fact that Bell gave the names of serveral other girls that were missing when he was arrested and it is known that he lived close to each and every one. One girl, still missing today, is Sandee Cornett. Bell did everything he could to admit it, stopping short of a full confession as seen here…
