This report details the 1978 investigation in Riverside County of a triple homicide of a couple and their maid. The murderer is Scandanavian Born Andreas Christensen, who til this very day has yet to be charged, extradited, and convicted for the murders. This is a very sad cold case – most likely solved, but with not enough evidence to convict. These murders will haunt Riverside county police for ages. True crime investigation buffs will find interest in this story. The anonymous call/contact to the San Fransisco Chronicle in 1981 was very zynchronistic. Additionally the Friendly’s were connected to a very prominent San Francisco family. also Christensen’s being Scandanavian and his spending time in England, USA, and Africa (the most dangerous game) are qualities that many have theorized The Zodiac might possess.

"“He had one strange attribute,” said Caroline Hutton, now 73. “I never knew anything about him. Have you ever met anybody you know for some years, but you’ve never known where they are from? Where they went to school? Where their family is? He was like a cipher. He never talked about any of it.”

Just seeing now Andreas Christensen has changed his name and lives outside of Copenhagen. He is likely still alive. He had owned a coffee plantation in Africa as well. Who knows if he still Frequents the area or not and if the coffee plantation of his is still up and running. It’s a shame this hitman and sicko couldn’t be brought to justice recently when the case was reopened bc Riverside Country feared investigating the case and extraditing Andreas would bankrupt the department. That’s how poor Riverside County is. Riverside County is quite expansive and despite Palm Springs people and their thick wallets the majority of the rest of Riverside county live out in the boonies as small farmers or even transients. Not much money gets put back into our county and law enforcement here, which could account for many aspects of Cheri Jo Bates and other Riverside cold cases not being investigated currently – budget restraints.

P.s. You’ll love how much the one photo of Christensen at the link looks like the Fouke Z composit.

Prime Suspects / Seventeen years after former San Francisco socialites Edward and Sophia Friendly were murdered, authorities have reopened an investigation that led them to Europe, Africa, South America and then — nowhere

1995-07-28 04:00:00 PDT Palm Springs — Michael Taylor first wrote about the Friendly murders for The Chronicle in 1981. This article was based on more than 100 interviews with police officers, prosecutors, family members and other sources in the United States, England, Brazil and Denmark, as well as an examination of police and court records.

This fellow is very, very dangerous and bad, bad, BAD to the core. He allegedly killed for the sake of killing. He needed no reasons. He is thought to be still alive and living in Europe. He is a professional mercenary who has no doubt killed many people. He allegedly had no qualms about killing anybody, men, women or children and would not have flinched or felt any remorse for his victims whatsoever. He was (is?) a cold, calculating and intelligent individual, who was said to have once had a cave filled with weapons and explosives. He revealed nothing about himself to anybody. He was a closed book. Even those who knew him for many years knew nothing about him, in particular his past and background. He was secretive to the core. He once wrote ransom letters to someone demanding money. I would like to see his handwriting to compare against the Zodiac letters. In my honest opinion, this person should have been investigated more intensely as a Zodiac suspect. He could have committed the Zodiac murders for no reason but the sake of doing it and avoiding capture, while taunting the police with cryptic clues and ciphers. He may well have been training to fulfil some idea he had of becoming a mercenary even back then and he was trying to prove himself and toughen his own resolve. He was a globe trotter, so could vanish overseas to Europe or Africa until things cooled down. I strongly suspect he could alter his appearance and also his accent to blend into the background. He used many aliases. His face also resembles the police sketches.
