These are the articles that were in the Chronicle regarding Charles Jarman’s murder from the murder itself to the suspect confessing. I do not know if there was a trial or if it was just a matter of formality and the suspect was basically just sentenced.
In the middle of the articles is a story about a Yellow Cab driver who was being robbed at knifepoint and shot and killed his assailant. I put it here because, timewise, it happened in between Jarman being murdered and a suspect being arrested. It probably does not merit its own thread.

Did you see that the Brommell guy’s girlfriend lived on Geary??? Thats close to where Z was picked up by Stine, right? "POLICE SORROUNDED THE GEARY ST APT" I think they have his name spelled wrong, as I cant seem to find a record for a guy in CA around the same exact age
THEY LIVED AT 610 GEARY ST
EDIT- I see that he was originally from Oregon, so tha tmay be why there are no records of him living in CA, still, that Geary St address certainly caught my eye

Yes, that Geary Street address is in the area of the theater district where Zodiac got into Stine’s cab and the place where Jarman was shot was just 10 blocks from where Stine was killed. The picture of the suspect does not look anything like the composite or even the general description, IMO.
Apparently Bromell had been in SF for several weeks, however many weeks is several I’m not sure but the Stine murder was 3 months previous. I noticed that the suspects last name is spelled two different ways, with one M and two M’s so if your looking for him you might try both spellings.

Very dark hair, great big chin, no glasses? Not a .22 (of course) but a Browning (we believe)?
Nope, probably the wrong pigeon. And I’m forced to believe that it was open season on SF cabbies.
The OTHER guy who made our Asian cab-driving friend cllimb in the boot of his own ride? Well, he fits that description quite well.
I’ve no idea what the timeframe was for that one, though.

Not sure if I’d be concerned because a (potential) suspect didn’t wear glasses. The only time we know for a fact Zodiac was wearing glasses is SF and those probably weren’t his.

Tracers – the guy leaving the Stine scene was wearing his own glasses alright. Deborah Perez has the others!
I do think this guy might be the trunk-filler though.
I like the bit: "I knew I’d get caught", he said, "I left fingerprints all over the cab. I’ve got a record, so I knew it was only a matter of time before the police picked me up."
Was floating around in google images and spotted these articles posted by catseye on the DK board in 2009. Wondered if we had them and we did. I’m sure I’ve read them before because I recognize the thread but I must have just glanced at it and not read the information.
Very curious, when you first read it, how compelling and coincidental it all sounds. What I’ve just realised is that the date of the initial article regarding Jarman is Jan 26th 1970. Then the article regarding Alexander two days later mentions that his weapon was a .38.
Zodiac’s letter that mentions shooting a man in a parked car with a .38 is dated June 26th 1970. Inspiration wrapped up in anniversary shenanigans?
EDIT: Just thinking about this it could be dig at police given that Alexander was a BMA. Had that faux pas been published?
Oooh–thanks Seagull…and can add these to my little list. Which is actually quite big.
