Maury Terry’s book and investigation has always fascinated me going back to the late 80’s when Unsolved Mysteries first mentioned the possibility Berkowitz did not act alone. I managed to get a copy of Terry’s book in the late 90’s and it is a scary and engrossing read. Since then, I’ve come across a few people who dismiss a lot of what was written as pure speculation and a twisting of facts to fit the puzzle a’la Graysmith. I’m not sold on the connections to the Manson family, but the SoS crimes themselves bug me to this day. What’s with all the various composite sketches, including a couple that just happen to look like "Son of Sam" John Carr? What about the VW bug seen speeding from the final shooting? These questions don’t seem to have answers from the higher-ups and those who think Terry is on a witch hunt.
