There’s something about this guy that really reminds me of Z, there’s an impersonal nature to the murders that is at odds with the carefully chosen victims/locations.

Fascinating thanks for posting i live close to I-70 near St Charles Missouri.
I remember when it happened in Raytown Mo very close to me .
he just went and shot the woman ,no robbery I believe , so it seemed at 1st to be a crime of passion , I think every one crindged when it was announced to be a national serial killer
It was at 63rd st and Woodson rd in the woodson Shopping center in the small row of shops on the E side , 4 miles from I -70
Still makes me look at the building when I go by it .
and it kind of killed the businesses there or maybe Walmart did.
He took nominal amounts of money, robbery wasn’t really a motive. Used a .22, execution style. The killer looked for lone female employees in lightly traveled businesses. I came upon this case when watching an episode of "Dark Minds." I found the narrator a bit too dramatic but the case is really chilling. Even more so than Zodiac, in my opinion. This guy had one purpose when he entered the stores: kill and get out. Think of the killer in "No Country for Old Men." Authorities believe he may have had more victims in Texas. Interesting case, thanks for posting. I would love to read more about it if anyone has some material.
