Xenophon Anthony came to Lakeside in the fall of ,4-7. He soon distinguished himself for his athletic ability, winning letters in foot- ball, basketball and track. He also excelled scholastically. He was a consistent Cold Star winner and was near the top of his class. In his senior year he was secretary of the student body, vice-president of the s’Big Ll, club, and vice-president of the dorm council. His friends claim that his athletic and scholastic talents are only exceeded by his social effectiveness

Ancestry.com had a college yearbook entry for his wife, listing her residence in Riverside, CA.

I thought that was rather interesting. But when I clicked through to the underlying yearbook entry, it’s actually from Stanford University.

Why would Ancestry.com list her residence as Riverside? Is there an actual connection or is it some kind of error?

Since the photograph was taken at high school, I have age progressed his face to around 36 years of age, nearer to his age in 1969, of 38.

His wife Valerie founded Sterne School, a special needs school on Jackson Street in San Francisco. Here’s a picture of her:

Xenophon? Ah oh….it’s Greek.

The spelling of name Xenophon is somewhat complicated. The name is written with the letter -Ξ in Greek, which doesn’t exist in the Latin alphabet; reading Xenophon in English would probably sound like “ZEEnophon”, although the Greek sound is Ksenophon. However, Xenophon is the most common spelling in the Romanized version of the Greek language and spelling.
In Greek the meaning of the name Xenophon is: Strange voice

Probably came from this if it was due to any special meaning…aside of just thinking the name was cool.

Greek soldier and writer. A disciple of Socrates, he joined Cyrus the Younger in an attack on Persia. After the death of Cyrus, Xenophon led the Greek troops to the Black Sea, an ordeal he recounted in Anabasis.

I was checking at Ancestry on him and it seems he was named after his grandfather born 1871 and died 1929 in Spokane WA.
