With the popularity of the Serial podcast crime series and this new who dun it Modern Mystery,
something happened here in my neighborhood in 2014 that is far more interesting a who dun it or what was dun really than those IMO ,so I think I’ll post for all to scrutinize. I mean we are all playing detective to some degree . The suspected crime is that a family about 400′ from me murdered a woman or more .
This “family “ moved here from Arkansas about 03 or 04 as I remember I will call them the Smalls ( the mother is very very petite as are the two sons who are 4 ft tall and in there twenties now I would estimate) She never worked and I understand was getting child support for the kids when they moved here to the rundown home ,she looks like a 10 year old girl from a distance, that tiny,so I am not sure what job she could hold .

My home sits 25 ft above theirs as it is down hill at the end of a dead end street with a field across from their home . I am out in my yard on that side much of the time in the warm weather , I have some acreage too.
Also a boyfriend of the moms lived in the home ,and was a long haul trucker and had the only vehicle a grey Chevy pickup rather new also he had a nice fish and ski aluminum boat 50 hp not that old and a nice pop-up camper , I know this as in 2012 he came up to my house as the younger son wanted to buy my old 4×4 rust bucket import truck for more than it was worth ….sold I said . The man wanted me to know he was not married to the woman and the truck and boat and camper were his and the kids were not his too, I assumed he was her mate but it could have been they had a platonic relationship .
Early on These sons had run ins with black kids and were by all accounts very racist against blacks .
Not long after I knew they were there ,the older son was hiding from police as they seemed to be looking for somebody around the place ,like he had something to hide .

Also there was a sister that looked like the Mom so much it was hard to tell them apart , she I think moved out in 06 or 07 , I guess the sons ages at 19 and 14 in say 06 . I will call the older son Mark and the younger Ted .

Whats going on is in mid July 2014 was , I was outside as usual and happened to notice a newer VW in my drive. I thought at first it was someone I knew , approaching the car I see it’s driver is a quite attractive early twenties black woman light skinned ,she looked and smiled like movie star Stacy Dash almost ,I did not know her name ,lets call her Stacy . As I got near Stacy looked around and said “oh sorry …I see what I did”

she was wearing very nice clothes, dry clean only type and looked like a recent college grad ,Stacy could have been a TV personality ,I thought . The car looked very new ,in great shape too.
The VW backed out and headed down the dead end street . In the following days I again saw this same VW around 6 pm like she was coming home from work , turning down the dead end street ,like she had moved into a home there and am sure that was the case , finally I wanted to see what house she went to ..it was the Smalls at the end of the block ,she got out and went in …. oh no .I said out loud … that was about the last place she should move into …I do not think she knows those people like I do, probably renting a room that’s cheap from them .
Then around mid august I saw that around 7 pm the VW was heading out and returning after 10 pm ,like she did not want to be around or was not getting along with this family even though she was living in their home .

Once later in Sept. or October ? I saw her at the grocery store ,the male cashiers hitting on her ,I never saw a boy friend with her , I tried to approach her to tell her of the danger nature of that situation , she thought I was lot lizarding her dashed to her car and sped off.

Mark had had a strange obsession it seemed to me , from time to time he was driving a car ,whose it was anybody’s guess , he would come down the main 4 lane road and try to turn onto his street going 30 mph ,like no brakes tires siding and screeching ,once he slid someones old Corrolla of into the ditch doing it ,a homeowner there came out and giving a lecture to him .
In October Stacy was driving up the dead end street around 7pm, as she did and Mark did the slide around the corner trick almost crashing into her . She jumped out and let him have it like “you fuckin idiot … you almost killed me bla bla .. Mark stood there and seemed stunned but then made a very angry taunt back at Stacy . They then parted going their ways .

In late Oct. or November, one night about 20 min. before dark I was out on the drive and from the direction of the Smalls house I heard two or three voices it sounded like talking but at that distance it had to be shouting for me to hear . I almost thought I saw someone being dragged into the wooded area next to their property followed by more talking as I started to walk away I hear 2 shots like a .22 then one male voice and one ,more shot ,I looked and was concerned saw movement in the brush . I wanted to call police ,but decided the other homes closer would call ,I didn’t put together Stacy and the Mark issue until weeks later when coming up that street was Mark driving Stacy’s VW . I cannot see her under any circumstances letting any of the Smalls drive her car , I have never seen her driving her car again .
Weeks later I saw a very strange thing , the VW coming down the 4 lane with Mark driving pretty fast , I thought he was going to do the speed around the curve thing ,but he instead slowed to a stop and from 40 ft I saw him put on a halloween type mask of a black woman with hair , like he was trying to fool neighbors that it was Stacy in the car.
Soon after this event the Mom was the one driving the VW and does still , I’d bet none of the Smalls have a valid drivers license.
Another odd occurrence ,I did finally call KCPD’s tip line telling the story in May of 15 ,giving the VW’s plate # and an hour later as I left driving to a store her comes a police car going down to the street to the Smalls residence , but think it just observed , the VW may have been gone then .
About 7:25 pm I was mowing way down on my field near the 4 lane and here comes the gray PU driven by Mark with their riding lawn mower etc. loaded in the bed ,plus tandem towing both the boat and camper leaving the home , later I saw they had returned though .
Another peculiar thing is the moms boyfriend was ,like I said a long haul trucker he was home for at least 3 to 4 days every two weeks like clockwork , but in 2013 ? he did a big burn off in front of their house then at the intersection another long tire destroying one like he was extremely pissed , after that I did not see him again ,but the truck ,camper , boat that he stated were his remain at the house . Months later I saw a police Sgt. Talking to Mark and mark was angry having to open up the garage . That is where it stands
