Hey all,

This is an excellent game I finished yesterday (Gone Home). It is an exploration game without action, it is entirely played in one big mansion. It’s set in 1995 and this certainly adds to the atmosphere. You are a young woman who comes back from a trip and no one is home, you find out what happened by investigating every nook and cranny of the house, and so the story unfolds. Very good story and music but the music is genre specific. The game is somewhat short, between 2 and 5 hours depending how rushy you are. I bought it cheap on Steam for 3-4 euro (80% discount), and for this price it’s a great buy. Possibly somewhat of a tearjerker for the sensitive person.

If this sounds for you don’t go looking for spoilers, it could very well ruin the story.

I second this recommendation. Wonderful game, loved the way it builds, and my eyes did well up at the end.

Also agree that for emotional impact, the less you know about the game, the better – stay away from spoilers!

For a fun lo-fi exploration game, I recommend seiklus. It is charming, though without the emotional heft of Gone Home. Seiklus may be downloaded here: http://www.autofish.net/clysm/art/video_games/seiklus/
