For all the gold diggers out there:
Go for it..it only can be better in the States, California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Washington…today I went for the first time to the Eastern Alps (‘Rax’) and I can tell you: No Raxgold at all.
It was very simple..a friend of mine spent a hundred bucks for pipes and everything, trying to create somewhat like an automatic ‘underflow’ system. Me, instead, bought a rectangular plastic box for 2 bucks, cut the smaller sides (for the water to get in and out) and put some riffled flexible mat inside. Guess what worked perfectly..a light plastic ‘sluice’ with which we had an easy use either putting it behind a rock (throwing tons of sand on it) or even using it as sort of a rocker pan.
The only problem was – no gold at all. But it was great fun and we’ll try it again in the higher mountains of the Alps, the Hohe Tauern where some famous ‘Tauerngold’ should flow into our pockets. Meanwhile other people find nuggets lying around in the desert..it’s fun and actually..the..rush..gold..GOLD…GOOOOOLLLLDDD.
