Don’t know if anyone has heard about this but just before 8pm CST the West Fertilizer Plant in the town of West, Texas exploded. West is located 77 miles south of Dallas and folks in the southern portions of Dallas reported hearing and feeling the blast. Several homes, a nursing home, an elementary school and an apartment complex have all been compromised. We’ve got firefighters from all over Texas heading there to help fight this. A second explosion of an anhydrous ammonia tank just happened and the areas that were set up for triage had to be evacuated.
As if all of this wasn’t bad enough we’ve got some extremely bad weather heading in – high winds, storms.

CAUGHT ON CAMERA WACO Fertilizer BLAST
This video appears to capture the fire at the chemical blast followed by a giant explosion.
A child can be heard repeatedly saying "please get out of here" in the background.
West, Texas resident Derrick Hurtt – pictured with his daughters Khloey, inset right, and Kinley, left – had parked his car to observe the fire at the plant earlier in the night and was filming the structure as it was engulfed in flames. Suddenly, something sparked a massive blast, causing flames to shoot into the sky, rocking the family’s car as the terrified father and Khloey tried to scramble to safety
A chilling video of the explosion in West, Texas on Wednesday, captured by a man and his child who witnessed the blast reveals the sheer terror that has rocked this tight-knit community. The blast at fertilizer plant at 7.50pm (CST) on Wednesday has reportedly left dozens of people of dead, hundreds injured and caused a nursing home to collapse, trapping residents inside.

One of the first responders on the scene has been arrested.
Allegedly he was in possession of a pipe bomb which he left with a friend after the incident. The friend then alerted the authorities. Sorry no link yet as I’ve just heard it on TV. It may now be a criminal investigation. They aren’t claiming that he had anything to do with the explosion but it certainly changes things.
