XP was great for it’s time. 7 not so hot but 8 I think has done well. 7 was a nightmare for glitches and security risks. XP wasn’t much better but at least it was or eventually became more stable. Since I’ve had 8 and now 8.1 I’ve almost forgotten how to firefight major problems. Still had the odd one but with the older OS’s, I learned to remove viruses and system attacks almost at code level because I had to. Now I’m not sure I even remember how. That in my book is a win.

As Deb says you get used to things. I wasn’t sure at all about 8 when I made the jump (I’m sure I made a post about it at the time). Now I couldn’t, and wouldn’t want to go back. When I’ve had to do a system re-install even that’s easier.

The one thing 8 absolutely does not like though is anything on the desktop with a blank icon. Most won’t encounter this but on occasion I’ve created game trainers and forgot this and saved them to the desktop. They don’t have icons and it makes the ‘puter go mental. You can save them anywhere but the desktop. Prob something to do with the way the metro screen binds in the background, who knows. I still fall for it occasionally and think I’ve been cyber attacked until the penny drops lol.

I don’t know Chief, he’s very smart or very dumb.
