Well hope so and the base reproduction rate (brr) is going down..but the disease is not malaria nor water related. Remember the case of the woman infected even with a protection suit.

Better ring Dustin up and tell him to get his old suit out.. Might need to put a patch on it.

Yummie…just imagined that Paris Hilton took one out of hers..but chances are quite low for that one, I guess.

10,141 cases as of October 24, 2014…growth rate is now significantly lower than 1.02 per day, so obviously they really get it quite well under control..astonishing as there indeed have to work at least 50,000 people to do so. Health infrastructure working at its best. Seriously, I’m impressed and did not expect that to happen that fast… guess I have to cancel my plan to isolate myself somewhere together with three girls..

that PBS documentary pointed out that in the late 70’s the west told them that the best way to avoid further infections was to leave / move from the ebola river region ( where it came from )
In those cultures it is customery to wash and dress the dead ,which they insist on doing still, causing it to spread further .

Updated base reproduction rate: 1.10555 per day. Massively increased..already wondered about the lower rates over the last days. The truth is: The disease is expanding.

It’s similar to firemen on the top floor having the fire under controll of a 35 story building. the bottom three floors are out of controll

QT is back again with a new keyboard..therefore a small ebola update.

No new figures from CDC since November 7, so we can be curious about what they will offer next. US ‘appears’ to be disease free, Liberia is not with approximately 200 infected people currently in hospital.

Meanwhile Marokko has cancelled its Africa Cup (soccer) due to the risk of new infections (great picture, article in German http://www.spiegel.de/sport/fussball/eb … 99741.html).

In California alone, 18,000 nurses plan to protest due to lacking of equipment..they are the ones who have to face e.g. flu infected people day for day and of course are afraid of the disease. Nurse mass hysteria.

UN Ban Ki-moon is wrong when he critizises the US practice to quarantine any Ebola helper for three weeks. One the one hand he considers them risking their lifes, on the other hand he doesn’t want them to be quarantined? Either he doesn’t know about incubation time or he feels quite safe where he currently is..here in Vienna in the UN headquarter, with passport control for each visitor. I’ll take this rare opportunity to critizise this boss of the United Nations at least in that decision. Guess he just wants his US United Nations fees to be paid ;)

Mali, an African country East of Guinea, has now new cases, too. So far the disease is growing (or not growing) calmly, until the next data from CDC will be published.

the fly’s and mosquitoes would be a big spreader of the virus over there IMO, landing on the dying and dead
if someone covered that I did not see it.

Update:

Total Cases: 19065
Laboratory-Confirmed Cases: 12073
Total Deaths: 7388

In October there were approx. 10,000 (total) cases, therefore almost doubled in two months only. Just an update, so far.

Many diseases around.. :/

Ebola..the daily reproduction rate, compared to January 10, is low at 1,00232796 (based on total cases). Nevertheless the disease is still spreading with this figure being > than 1.

Inbetween Ebola is growing on a broader basis:

A maximum of about 24,660 cases n the run, with an estimated 5,307 hosts – hospitalized or not – all of them unwillingly at least trying to spread the disease. All those hosts need to be found, if not already quarantined.

This quarantine, however is required to happen in countries such as Sierra Leone requiring tremendous efforts to do so. Just an update.
