This book has nine different stories about crimes in San Francisco. It was first published in 1974. It has what is the first account, in book form, of the Zodiac killings according to the author of the Zodiac story. The author is Duffy Jennings of the San Francisco Chronicle. Most of the story goes along as we all know it to be but there are a few things that made me say to myself, "That’s not right" or "I never knew that". This kind of leads me to think that when someone insists they read a particular thing but can’t remember where, it might have come from this story and been repeated at a forum. An example would be, this story says Bryan Hartnell said that Zodiac was wearing glasses under the hood and may have had clip-ons attached to the glasses.
This story was written without the benefit of the various police reports that we have today but reporters were given more access in real time to police reports back then than they are today.
Yeah, thanks Seagull.
A lot of original true crime books are well worth it because they don’t have the benefit of hindsight.
