Has anybody read this on Kindle? According to some reviews I’ve read there are some formatting problems,I didn’t want to buy if they make it unreadable. If anybodys read the print version is it worth getting hold of?
I’ve read it in print and I enjoyed it, because it walks the reader through each crime scene pretty well, and includes some interesting "new" facts (which might even be true) such as the fact that one of the rear tires of the Rambler was punctured by that shot through the bodywork. I also enjoyed the handwriting analysis – or at least the writers discussion of why he thought the errors had been made. (That’s his job I think – or part of it. He works in education and ecounters lots of variations in writing, it seems.) Mind you his opinions about the errors now don’t jibe perfectly with my current opinons in respect to Hal Snook, but you can’t win ’em all.
The aspect I did NOT enjoy was the "series of crimes carefully chosen because of the date" stuff. I skipped an awful lot of that. The title’s a reasonable clue of what you’re going to get, in that respect!
As a simple "collection of facts" it was a pretty good read though; I felt I got my money’s worth.
Hi-
I don’t believe Z shot into the wheel well of the driver’s side of the Rambler. I thought they had recovered the slug fired into the rear cargo area behind the seats (the part of the car that makes a "station wagon" a station wagon) but if there was a bullet hole in the driver’s side rear wheel well, my guess would be it was from that shot through the rear window. It would be an exit hole not an entrance hole. I don’t think there is any other evidence that Z "stalked around the car." That may therefore be mythology.

Thanks for that it sounds a decent read,I don’t buy the date stuff either but the other stuff sounds interesting.I will be getting this shortly methinks
Gort – have at it, why don’t ya?
Mike – the wheel well, the "stalking" bit, the hole this book says was made in a tire……? *shrug*.
Hi-
I don’t recall the tire being flattened and I don’t recall seeing a reference to that in any report. I had always heard that he shot into the "wheel well," or the recess where the wheel is housed.

Me too – but it’s what it said in the book, I’m pretty sure. Hence the shrug. *Shrug*
