What explanation is there in the BRS shooting for there being 9 shell casings recovered from the scene, but the type of gun (9mm Luger) that Z said he used only having an 8 round clip? Where did the extra bullet come from?

8 rounds in the magazine (clip) + 1 in the chamber. so fully loaded it holds 9 rounds.
The 8+1 capacity was typical for most 9mm pistols however some held more rounds, a good example is the
Browning Hi-Power which held 13 rounds in the magazine + 1 in the chamber.
