I’ve always wondered why there is no Zodiac letter, at least that I am aware of, that describes the killing at Lake Berryessa. There is the correspondence on the car door, but no letter that mentions the attacks at the Lake. If anyone is aware of such letter please post here. If there is and it has not been shared by law enforcement, I wonder if it would be subject to an FOIA request.
The rumor is that there was a letter sent in or something left at the crime scene that makes this a definite Z crime. The police have always treated it as such.
I would think FOIA requests for evidence in an open criminal investigation would be rejected.
Zodiac was a screwup. He left behind five breathing victims, two survivors, bootprints, possibly fingerprints and palmprints, tiretracks, eyewitnesses, and earwitnesses. If the APB had gone out for a WMA he would have been locked up in ’69.
