like a gun fired from the back of a truck or something.

So Lundblad thought two guys killed Jensen and Faraday, and one was riding in the back of the truck carrying a gun of some kind? They road up Lake Herman Road with the guy in the back? Why?

Maybe Lundblad thought two of the hunters killed the kids, although I’m still hard-pressed to understand why the detective would think one of the guys would ride in the back with a gun instead of upfront in the truck’s cab. Wasn’t it a rather chilly, if not downright cold, night? Sure, the hunters were already out in the dark, but still…

I’m trying to imagine that one. I’m trying to see these guys out hunting, then leaving, with one of them forsaking the warmth of the cab to ride hard in the truck’s bed for god only knows what reason, and then the two of them deciding, without much possible communication, to kill two random teenagers for no discernible reason and with no discernible gain.

That theory sounds like a McDonald’s apple turnover. Half-baked.

I don’t know jroberson…just going of bits and pieces of things mentioned over the years. Could be some thought the guy jumped out and into the bed. It all really makes no sense to even bring it up at this point–and I probably shouldn’t have added to the muck of it all. The guys mentioned by Cunningham were of interest too. While the majority due believe it was Zodiac, but even the cops didn’t for a while. Some still don’t.

Re: The ranger and the newspaper article.

The statement (about BH asking to be stabbed first) is actually in the report:

Credit to morf – who brought the same part of the report up in another context.

Which goes to show what happens when statements are coming from other people. This is why it is important, when we have it, to go by the victims who actually lived it and not third parties.

"Without warning"…per Hartnell. It came as a surprise. That doesn’t happen if someone tells you they are going to stab you.

Indeed. Normally you can rely to an extent on third person statements from professionals, though. But with this guy…

It’s just baffling, really. You can’t mishear what he claims to have heard – that’s my contention.

Either they actually said it – and then, in Bryan’s case, revised it.

Or this guy made it up. But why? It’s senseless.
